Job Summary


Under general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Equal Opportunity, ADA and Title IX Coordinator, the EEO Intake Coordinator (Clerk V) coordinates the Equal Opportunity Office's reporting and complaint intake function by conducting intake and assessment into discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, ADA compliance matters, and Title IX sexual harassment reports and/or complaints submitted by university students and employees.





Essential Functions


Intake



  • Serves as initial contact for students and employees related to Title IX, discrimination and/or harassment complaints/reports.

  • Administers complaint/intake process for the office by scheduling and conducting interviews and engaging in investigative research to determine if allegations warrant escalation.

  • Assesses the applicability of university policies/procedures as related to complaints/reports received, and provide copies of applicable university policies to those reporting/complainant.

  • Determines whether there is an immediate safety concern for the reporting party(s), complainant, and/or the campus.

  • Refers individuals to appropriate university personnel, and provide relevant resources to those involved in the complaint.

  • Assists the Associate Vice Chancellor and/or the AVC's designee with proposing interim safety, welfare, and supportive measures as needed for discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and Title IX sexual harassment reports and/or complaints.

  • Monitors and oversees interim support measures throughout the investigation, informal resolution, adjudication, and appeals processes.

  • Coordinates transfer of complaints to Equal Opportunity Investigators when warranted, under supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor.

  • Maintains current knowledge of ADA, Title IX, and EO laws to ensure compliance with related government regulations.



Reporting and Records Management



  • Maintains documentation and records of incoming complaints/reports, including communication with reporting party(s), complainants, Responsible Employees, and other third-parties.

  • Ensures case management data and documentation of outreach, interim and support measures are up-to-date and maintained accurately.

  • Prepares official correspondence and reports directed by the Associate Vice Chancellor.



Campus and Office Support



  • Responds to informational inquiries of university policies related to the ADA, discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, Title IX, complaint resolution, etc.

  • Assists with training and orientation programming for university staff, faculty, and students related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and university non-discrimination Title IX policies.





Other Functions


Performs other duties as assigned.





Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)


  • Two (2) years of experience with conducting intake and/or assessment meetings with parties reporting allegations of protected class discrimination and/or, harassment.

  • Knowledge of current state and federal compliance policies, laws, and practices related to discrimination, harassment, sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination, including but not limited to the ADA, Title VII, Title IX, and Sec. 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters and/or people in distress.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage crisis intervention and response.

  • Experience working in an environment of strict confidentiality with sensitive information, materials and/or client interactions.

  • Demonstrated ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and verbally.

  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative relationships and working successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications and document sharing tools.




  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)



    • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree.

    • Experience working in an institution of higher education.





    Physical Demands/Working Conditions


    Typical office environment.





    Work Schedule



    • Monday - Friday.

    • 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.





    Salary Information


    Non-Exempt, Non-Unit Grade 15.
