SUMMARY
CEI a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support our various construction projects from our Las Vegas, NV office. The Project Engineer will be responsible for a multitude of construction-oriented tasks such as design support, review, and recommendations, construction and contract administration, site visits, inspections, and producing detailed reports.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Support of various construction activities, to include but not limited to, plan reviews, subcontractor vetting, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, quality control, and safety processes.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
Support of management team to ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Help ensure resource availability and proper allocation.
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
Assist in measurement of project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
Consistently report and communicate to project team and management.
Support communication with the client and stakeholders.
Assist with risk management to minimize project risks.
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Review and interpretation of design iterations for various divisions of construction
Work may include site visits to determine existing conditions for various sites, and produce report(s) detailing findings and recommendations in accordance with Specifications/RFPs/Scope of Work.
Must have demonstrated strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and high-level analytical and problem solving skills.
Must have demonstrated the ability to think strategically, multi-task, understands processes, and work in a fast-paced, changing environment under extreme deadlines.
Provide support of technical reviews.
Attend, facilitate, and coordinate required meetings and progress updates.
Enforcing vendor and subcontractor contracts within the context of the project.
Reviewing proposals, specifications and drawings, preparing lists of bid items and quantities, and determining scopes of work.
Estimating extra work items and change orders.
Reviewing contracts for accuracy and completeness.
Create and generate other formal reports in support of construction activities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Strong educational background, preferably in the field of mechanical engineering
Solid technical background, with understanding of basic construction methodology.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be able to obtain military base passes and be able to operate motor vehicles on military installation
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is a must.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Strong organization skills.
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Maintaining good attendance, (punctuality) and actively participating with a positive attitude is essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to perform in a fast pace environment.
Valid Driver's license with good driving record.
Basic knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
The ability to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Preferred
College Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations. 50%+ travel required.
