About the Role:

Are you ready to help keep our airport running smoothly, ensuring that operations stay on time, passengers stay safe, and every flight takes off without a hitch? As a Safety and Risk Officer, you'll be like the air traffic controller for our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) objectives—keeping an eye on everything from takeoff to landing to ensure our organization operates safely and efficiently.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) objectives are on course and functioning at full throttle. Your keen eye will spot potential risks, evaluate complex scenarios, and apply advanced analytics to steer clear of any accidents or mishaps. With your insights, we can prevent accidents and maintain a healthy, accident-free environment—keeping our organization soaring to new heights.

As part of our dynamic crew, you’ll collaborate with multiple business units, gathering data that fuels the renewal of the RDU Insurance Program and other key risk assessments. Under the guidance of our Vice President of Risk Management, Safety, and Insurance, you'll be instrumental in making sure we have the right tools and strategies to chart a safe and successful path.

Whether you’re analyzing data, partnering with cross-functional teams, or assisting with risk mitigation projects, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our operations stay in the clear, no matter what challenges lie ahead.

Compensation:


  • Maximum – Based on experience

  • Minimum - $68,878.42

What You’ll Do:


  • Assist with ERM implementations such as management and oversight including ERM risk analysis, risk assessments, risk education, risk monitoring, and remediation and reporting.

  • Analyze and conceptualize business and management risk reports to include risk aggregation, and trending, involving both qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Assist with conducting inspections of terminals, other buildings, and tenant and departmental areas to assist in identifying and resolving hazards that might cause employee or customer injury.

  • Assist with the insurance carrier renewal process to ensure data is submitted timely and accurately to the Broker to obtain quotes for all coverage lines of insurance.

  • Participates in emergency response and disaster recovery planning, documentation, exercises, and communication; actively supports the execution of such plans.

     

What You Need:

Education:

Required


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, safety management or other related analytical field OR equivalent relevant experience.






Experience:

Required:


  • 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Safety Management, Insurance, and/or ERM-related activities






Preferred: 


  • 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Safety Management, Insurance, and/or ERM-related activities

Licenses or Certifications:

Required:


  • Valid NC Driver’s License






Preferred:


  • Associate in Risk Management

  • Associate Safety Professional 

  • Certified Safety Professional

  • Certified Risk Management Professional






Typical Work Hours:


  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday with flexible scheduling options

  • On-site RDU Airport Campus
