The Maintenance Planner is primarily responsible for processing all work orders into job plans for maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner plans all routine, PM, Engineering projects, shutdowns, and extraordinary maintenance work performed in their area. The Maintenance Planner uses available Shintech and contract resources to ensure they are fully utilized and backlogs are properly managed. Specific areas of responsibility include:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a safety leader.
Plans routine work orders to the appropriate level of detail. Makes sure consideration is given to all safety and environmental concerns such as special PPE, fresh air requirements, waste disposal, etc. Consults with Reliability and Engineering for appropriate repair plans, specifications, and MOC's.
Organizes/initiates purchase requisitions, quotes, and multiple bids as needed for outside services.
Owns responsibilities associated with materials management, reviews and updates equipment parts lists, paperwork for additions and changes to parts inventory, and coordinates offsite repairs.
Develops a planning library of job plans for future use in order to be more efficient planning reoccurring and detailed jobs.
Reviews the area's work order backlog on a daily basis to ensure backlog is accurate.
Previews all upcoming maintenance activities and ensures material, manpower, and equipment is available to perform the work. Ensures all material that can be planned is purchased in the planning of the work and not after the plan makes the weekly schedule.
Generates area PM's. Reviews PM plans to ensure plan is current and reports necessary changes/modifications to the reliability and engineering groups.
Identifies and communicates recurring equipment failures to the Reliability Engineering group.
As a Core Member, attends and participates in Area meetings and provides input as needed.
Performs weekend/afterhours call out duties as necessary or when needed.
