Role Overview
The Technology Resiliency & Disaster Recovery Engineering Solutions Liaison team represents the consolidation of all Engineering, Data, Automation, Analytics and Technology configuration work into a single area. The team includes two Backup Recovery Validation Testing areas (Test Execution, and Strategy & Planning), two Drift Management areas (Business as unusual and Strategy & Planning), a Product Service Monitoring team, a Datastore team, and two Tooling & Automation areas (Cutover and Solution Process & Technology) with resources in both the United States and India.
This Engineering role aligns to the Backup Restore Validation Testing function, which utilizes an isolated production environment to conduct client-server offline backup exercises. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Engineer to lead the development and maturation of our technology recovery capabilities. The position will focus on ensuring our system's resilience by enhancing our ability to recover critical technology layers in an Isolated Recovery Environment. You will play a large role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our Technology Resiliency and Disaster Recovery strategies with the ultimate purpose to minimize disruption to technology operations in the event of outages or system failures.
In this role, you will:
Lead the design and implementation of scalable recovery solutions for production environments, ensuring that all technology layers, infrastructure, network, applications and data, can be effectively recovered in isolation, simulating IT production conditions.
Define and mature technical strategies to recover enterprise critical applications and data, with a focus on maintaining continuity of business processes.
Partner with architecture teams and IT systems leads to establish isolated production environment that simulate real-world conditions and scenarios. Enhance the companies recovery capabilities through continuous exercising and improvement.
Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and provide mitigation strategies to ensure seamless recovery following a risk event.
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years' experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure and GCP), virtualization technologies, storage, and networking.
3+ years' experience with automation and orchestration tools.
3+ years leading SQL and no-SQL database technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in designing, implementing or managing Isolated Recovery Environments.
Experience with Ansible and Terraform, as well as agent/monitoring tools
Experience with VMware's portfolio, including Tanzu(TKG, TAS), and vSphere, vRA, vCenter, etc.
Industry recognized certifications in disaster recovery (eg. Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from the DRII)
Experience with large scale enterprise environments, preferably within Financial Services or highly regulated industries.
Experience working in a collaborative team that works across multiple functional areas
Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, highly regulated, deadline driven environment
Solid analytical skills including analyzing complex data
Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with business partners to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
Knowledge and understanding of technology risks
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Job Expectations:
Ability to occasionally work outside of regular business hours
Ability to occasionally travel to other business locations 5% of the time
Willingness to work on-site at stated location in a Hybrid flex model that includes 3 days weekly in an assigned office

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates. $144,400.00 - $300,000.00 Benefits
