Job Description:

Position Overview
This position is responsible for performing litter and debris removal along the highway and roadways. This position will work as a team in collaboration with contract and other community partners performing highway maintenance and litter abatement projects while building skillsets and resources to transition into full-time permanent employment.
Essential Functions

Perform litter and debris removal within the highway, landscape, and community.
Assist community partners with special projects.
Clean and maintain all tools and personal protective equipment.
Perform manual weed control and landscaping of overgrown, fire tinder and unsightly vegetation.
Make firebreaks and fence lines where appropriate and instructed.
Plant natural vegetation of friable cut and fill slopes and any other areas subject to erosion.
Perform restoration by removing dead plants and replanting.
Perform general yardwork in the community locations as directed.
Perform graffiti removal in the community as directed.
Participate in all safety training; both daily and quarterly.
Participate in all training activities during shut down days.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
Frequent travel (up to 100%) to different worksite locations?transported by the Company vehicle.

Moderate physical activity performing semi-strenuous daily activities.

Education, Experience, Certifications, and Licenses

High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Core Competencies

Excellent verbal communication skills.
Proficient ability to follow simple verbal instructions.
