Job Description:
We are seeking a Chief of Platform Operations to manage the teams responsible for infrastructure components and services across the entire software development and engineering organization. Working closely with the software engineering organization, you will shape the implementation of our internal platform to empower our engineers. You will manage strategy, hiring and execution across the Platform Operations group.
Responsibilities Include:
Hire and recruit successful technical candidates
Create goals for the team that align with broader organizational direction
Guide and advise teams through career development paths
Define measures of success for projects and teams
Evaluate and integrate cloud services and tools
Develop, document, and implement migration plans for continuous improvement of existing products and services
Implement and maintain operational environments according to security policies
Make security a priority in DevSecOps cycle
Be data-driven; testing and measuring every step
Expert at monitoring and measuring systems and identifying bottlenecks

Delegates tasks effectively
Understands how to effectively leverage multiple cloud technologies
Evaluates new platforms and services for the team to leverage
Works effectively with project managers to follow projects to completion
Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
Consults with client to define need or problem, supervises studies, and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
Salary Range: $175,000-$235,000

Required Skills:
Must be a US Citizen per contract.
Must have an Active Top-Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar experience.
Experience with strict security compliance programs such as DoD RMF, FedRAMP, HITRUST, etc.
Experience with a DoD Software Factory or large GitOps / Kubernetes Platform.
Desired Skills:
5+ years of experience with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
5+ years of experience with large team management, preferably hybrid.
Seasoned experience with DevSecOps practices.
Background with Infrastructure and Configuration as Code development.
Ability to lead incident management and disaster recovery events.
Familiarity with Virtual Networks, Linux VMs, Cloud Server configurations, and storage arrays.
Familiarity with operational availability, MMTR, ArgoCD, Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace Mattermost, RBAC, MFA, ICAM and Kafka.
Familiarity with C, C++, Java and FORTRAN.
Familiarity with Trivy, SonarQube, GitLeaks, OWASP and SD Elements.
