Are you a passionate economist ready to help advance biological/biomedical programs? Are you ready to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in their mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone?
ECS seeks talented and driven Health Economist who a deep-rooted scientific foundation in biology/biomedical research.
In this role, you will coordinate with the Mission Office Director and individual Program Managers to assist in strategies to scale operations across new and disparate populations and communities leveraging new technologies and new innovations across the global supply chain.
What you will do:
Develop cost-effectiveness models to assess the value proposition of innovative biological and biomedical technologies being explored by ARPA-H programs.
Analyze the economic burden of diseases targeted by ARPA-H programs, considering direct medical costs, indirect costs like lost productivity, and the societal impact on patients and their families.
Evaluate the economic feasibility of implementing and scaling promising biological and biomedical interventions, considering factors like manufacturing costs, reimbursement strategies, and potential budget impacts on healthcare systems. Identify and address health equity considerations by analyzing the potential economic impact of ARPA-H programs on underserved populations and ensuring equitable access to new technologies. Prepare economic briefs and presentations to communicate complex health economic findings to a diverse audience, including Program Managers, scientific researchers, policymakers, and the public.
Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000
General Description of Benefits
Required Skills:
PhD in Biology or another closely-related scientific field.
Background in economics/statistics.
At least 10 total years of experience focused in healthcare, statistics, public health analysis.
Minimum of 5 years direct experience as a health economist.
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
Desired Skills:
Three years or more experience, background, and knowledge of one or more ARPA Programs is highly desirable.
Experience supporting complex R&D projects of a research and development nature.
