Job Description:
ECS is seeking a qualified Computer Systems Analyst (Junior) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.
The candidate will provide end-user support with processes for managing and delivering IT services, resolve incidents, service requests, and problems associated with service failures or degradations that are related to hardware and software computing devices.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and modify applications, operating systems, and any required third-party products as necessary to ensure interoperability, including Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software and software under development by in-house development teams, to meet the needs of application owners.
Maintain Applications server environment, working to identify and troubleshoot issues via root cause analysis and provide thorough technical documentation for required corrective action resolutions.
Proactively monitor and remediate application server infrastructure issues.
Create, review, and maintain advanced technical support documentation for supported software applications and their environments.
Regularly provide input and status updates for project tracking activities.
Serve as the technical point of contact for vendor support on all application-related issues and evaluate vendor products as needed.
Lead system and process analysis efforts to provide innovative solutions for highly complex customer problems.
Design and develop advanced technical solutions, working directly with the Applications teams to recommend solutions and strategies for configuration, testing, and integration of new technologies in effort to increase efficiency and effectiveness of applications and/or server management.
Extensive experience working independently to plan and schedule workload, establish priorities, and collaborate with high-level technical personnel.
Extensive and highly advanced experience with one or more of the following: software and/or systems configuration, computer administration, applications development, or instrumentation management and communications.
Highly advanced experience collaborating with management, customers, or high-level technical personnel to provide direction in the design, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of systems, services, or processes.
Daily activities include:
Analyze information requirements. Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflow, organization, and planning and assists Senior Computer Systems Analyst and Computer Systems Analyst develop appropriate corrective action. Help develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion. Define the problem, and develop system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests. Under the supervision of a Senior Computer Systems Analyst or a Computer Systems Analyst, coordinate closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. Develop, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
OR
Associate's Degree in a related field AND two years of related work experience
OR
Four years of related work experience
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Must be a US Citizen per contract.
Must currently live in Morgantown, WV or willing to relocate.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills:
Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers.
Project Management Professional certification.
Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature.
Individual shall possess or be working towards the relevant certifications: Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification: for example: Microsoft role-based certifications, Microsoft Certified Applicable s Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), Cloud certifications, etc.]
