Your Role:
EMD Electronics is immediately hiring for an Operations Technician in Tempe, AZ. This is a rewarding job opportunity for people who want to join a growing business. The Operations Technician is responsible for operating the manufacturing equipment in a safe, high quality and productive manner. This person proactively completes assigned plant routines and other duties as required by site specific requirements.
Duties for the Operations Technician include:
Performing manufacturing, packaging, and testing of products and various manufacturing systems throughout
the facility
Maintaining safe working conditions and practices to achieve safety objectives
Maintain required safety documentation
Attending all mandatory site-specific training and meetings
Performing work duties in accordance with Quality Systems Manual procedures, safety policies and site-specific requirements.
Consistently demonstrating skills to operate all equipment used in the department in a safe manner
Understanding each manufacturing process and being able to identify and report any deviations to the lead/manager in a timely manner
Utilizing automated programs and computer systems to help drive consistent and reliable manufacturing, packaging and testing
Inspecting all work areas on a continuous basis for any mechanical problems, safety hazards and unusual operating conditions
Keeping work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition at all times
Coordinating activities in production with other facility groups to ensure minimal impact to the production continuity
Collecting in process and finished product samples
Performing basic troubleshooting on equipment and making minor repairs or adjustments, as necessary
Submitting work orders to the maintenance planning system
Assisting with training and development of new employees
Assisting in generating and revising SOPs, as necessary
Contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality and manufacturing efficiencies
Monitoring and replenishing in-process inventories of consumables/raw materials
Assisting in shipping/receiving activities as directed
Other duties as assigned
Travel up to 5%
Physical Attributes:
Lift, push, and or pull up to 50lbs
Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, and or reach above shoulder
Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, masks, and or steel toed safety shoes, as needed
Location: Onsite on a rotating shift to include day and night shifts in Tempe, AZ
Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
1 year of forklift operating experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing and chemical environment
Basic experience with computers software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Career experience in semiconductor industry
Forklift experience
Experience with automated systems
