Overview
As a CAD technician, you’ll support the entire Structural Assessment vertical by assisting in numerous tasks for projects across the country. Tasks will typically include developing site plan, elevation, channel topography, and sounding layout drawings to show bridge channel crossings, pier layouts and defects, and channel bottom topography. Additional projects can include assisting with cutting edge technology in our drone, acoustic imaging, and hydrographic surveying programs. Drawing tasks will be supplemented with software sampling and recommendations for 3D and 2D post processing, as well as procedure development for efficient production of 3D models, hydrographic and bathymetric layouts, and emerging technologies. Drone and survey data experience preferred.
Responsibilities
• Review construction plans, details, and figures for historical measurements, dimensions, and references.• Transform initial rough designs, sketches, and mark-ups into finished plan drawings.• Generate engineering drawings for inspection reports including bridge layouts and defect depictions. • Manipulate hydrographic survey data into channel bottom topography layouts, and develop 3D relief drawings. • Assist in the preparation of technical documents and reports.
Qualifications
• Associate of Science in Engineering Technology.• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D software. • This office job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs.
