What you will enjoy doing*


  • In this role you will provide leadership and expert guidance on the performance of corporate procurement and logistics personnel who manage day to day import and export operations at various locations

  • Further, you will implement, maintain, and periodically update import and export compliance policies and procedures, as well you will collaborate with various business functions to understand needs and build integrated, forward-looking and efficient business processes that facilitate trade compliance

  • You will be responsible for guiding the organization to include compliance in decisions and, when projects are approved, to properly organize and resource

  • In addition, you will perform import and export responsibilities, such as outbound shipment export compliance and manufacturing country of origin markings, further perform HTSUS classification and ADD-CVD analysis of all the imported items

  • You will coordinate with Engineering on classification of equipment and with Procurement on supplier decisions
    Advises Procurement, Engineering (e.g., classifications for equipment transfers)

  • Logistics, Operations and Legal, Contract Management and Sales in regulatory compliance issues and possible buying opportunities is part of your role, as well the management of Import Customs Clearance - International Inbound Cargo - and Export Clearance / AES filing - International Outbound Cargo

  • You will also perform classification for export items

  • Further, you will manage, direct, supervise, and evaluate the performance of LEA's customs brokers including contract and rate negotiation

  • You will confirm accurate calculation and payment of duties and customs fees

  • You will establish post-entry and post-export review procedures and address any government trade agency compliance audits and perform 'Import Data Risk Assessment'

  • Additionally, you will respond to inquiries from Customs and Border Protection and other trade regulatory agencies, annual customs reconciliation filing (a large and critical effort), sub POA issuances, waiver requests, annual trade agreement certifications, management of authorization to import


What makes you great


  • You have 15 years' experience in international trade compliance, regulatory or related experience within a global company and experience developing and implementing a trade compliance program

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College is required for this role

  • Preferred but not required Licensed U.S. Customs Broker

  • Further, you have knowledge and ability to assess the risk of anti-dumping and countervailing duty liability and knowledge of import and export compliance programs

  • Experience in dealing with formal audits from external agencies is necessary

  • You must possess the ability to work with engineers and technical products

  • You possess effective computer skills in Microsoft Office Software and other company and discipline specific software applications
