What you'll do here: Under general supervision, your position involves participating in management activities (productivity, tax prep work, marketing) for one office / kiosk. This position has access to and regularly works with information of a sensitive, highly confidential nature, and regularly deals with diverse matters, which require a working knowledge of the business.
Tax Preparation of returns following the Jackson Hewitt ProFiler system while maximizing customer service and increasing sales
Performs office administrative functions for opening and/or closing procedures
Perform other daily administrative functions like following up with clients or promos
Placement of advertising and other signage to promote Jackson Hewitt
Standing up and engaging with potential clients with marketing materials prescribed by the Franchisee and/or Leader
May supervise one or more seasonal hourly staff members at a single location or kiosk
Communicate with the Area Supervisor or Area Manager on the status of potential seasonal employees
Monitors associate performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems
Reviews goal sheets and other various reports and takes appropriate action where necessary
If a return is to be voided or put on hold you must reach out to save the return and utilize I am a 10
Maintains a prescribed uniform filing system for filing acknowledged, rejected, and complete tax returns
Skills you'll bring for success:
Previous tax preparation experience and possess a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
High School Degree or equivalent related business experience
Course of study in management or in tax preparation and/or accounting preferred
One year of previous management or supervisory experience desired
Proficiency with a variety of basic computer software applications with accounting or tax preparation software
