Job Description:

Under supervision and direction of the Open Systems Cloud Supervisor, this position will be responsible for mentoring and guiding systems senior engineers with advanced problem resolution skills who are responsible for planning, design, development, optimization, documentation, maintenance, and performance of the State's Enterprise Cloud environments (Azure/M365) The position will assist in design, implementation and support of the cloud environment.


Location: 501 S. 14th Street Lincoln, NE


Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.



Job duties



Under supervision and direction of the Cloud Team Supervisor and Team Lead, this position will be responsible for planning, design, development, optimization, documentation, maintenance, and performance of the State's Enterprise Cloud environments (Azure/M365) The position will assist in design, implementation and support of the cloud environment.



Requirements/Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in computer science and three years of related technical and business experience. Two years of related technical and business experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for year basis. OR Post high school coursework in computer science and four years of related technical and business experience.



Preferred:


  • Experience analyzing new and existing technology solutions and making recommendations for integration.

  • Experience or familiarity with different programming and scripting languages.

  • Extensive knowledge of Azure and AWS pertaining to virtual networks, firewalls, M365, Power Platform, Azure AD, Dynamics, AWS products and solutions

  • Certifications in either Azure or AWS

  • Extensive knowledge with web platforms and troubleshooting sites to help developers write better, more secure code.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices

  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software

  • General knowledge of local and wide area network systems

  • Knowledge of client/server network protocols and Internet/Intranet applications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud infrastructure

  • Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service

  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures

  • Ability to successfully apply information engineering techniques; ability to design a data centered information system; ability to effectively design and use relational databases; ability to effectively test and debug systems and programs

  • Ability to accurately estimate time and cost requirements in project development and implementation

  • Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals

  • Ability to plan, organize, and meet schedules and timelines for assigned work
