Position: Visiting Research Scholar - Visiting Faculty Research Partnership
Description: The Princeton University Department of Chemistry seeks applications for its third Visiting Faculty Research Partnership (VFRP) cohort for the summer 2025 term. The VFRP seeks to establish research collaborations with faculty members, and their students, from colleges and universities without large doctoral programs. The Department of Chemistry supports a diverse and inclusive community and seeks to develop enduring research networks among the chemistry community. The visiting faculty member will identify a member of the Princeton University Department of Chemistry research faculty with whom to develop a research project of mutual interest. It is anticipated that one member of the cohort will work with the Bio-Inspired Light Escalated Chemistry (BioLEC) Center, so applicants are encouraged to highlight any research overlap with the center if applicable. Faculty members selected for this program will be appointed as "Princeton University Visiting Research Scholars" and may invite up to two currently enrolled student researchers to participate in the summer research. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Eligibility: Faculty applicants must be a full-time faculty member in chemistry, chemical biology, physical chemistry, or materials chemistry, or a related field, at an accredited U.S. degree granting, postsecondary institution. A Ph.D. is required. Applicants from faculty at Minority-Serving Institutions are strongly encouraged. The faculty member cannot hold an appointment at a university categorized as "R1: Doctoral Universities - Very high research activity" by the 2021 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Trailing students may be either undergraduate or graduate students, but they must have completed at least one semester at their home institution and have at least one semester of enrollment remaining in their program. Additionally, trailing undergraduate students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
