The Manager, Sustainability and Product Material Compliance will lead two teams of engineers: a team of sustainability engineers to conduct Embodied Carbon studies, Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), issue the product sustainability documents and environmental product declarations (EPDs) and team of product material compliance engineers with responsibility for ensuring that Vertiv's products comply with material regulations (including RoHS, REACH, TSCA, and others) and customer requirements.
The Manager, Sustainability and Product Material Compliance contributes to a range of responsibilities, including evaluating compliance for new products; recertification of existing products; evaluating the impact of regulations and customer requests; analyzing compliance and process related data and making recommendations; and leading projects to develop and improve related processes. This individual will also collaborate with the procurement and engineering teams to improve the data in Vertiv's systems, and the data collected from Vertiv's suppliers. This role will also support other compliance, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), and engineering activities.
Responsibilities:
Manage the sustainability and product material compliance processes within Vertiv product development (VPD) to ensure that products are compliant and product introduction schedules are met.
Drive improvement in the process of gathering and managing material compliance data between Vertiv's product development system and its 3rd party compliance outreach provider.
Be the expert and take the lead on LCA assignments and develop the resources on the subject matter of sustainability.
Be the expert on material compliance regulations and best practices, providing thought leadership and guidance to the organization.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering, materials engineering, or related discipline required; Master's, MBA, or other advanced degree within business, Engineering, or science is preferred.
Minimum 7 years relevant experience
MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Bill of Material management systems (ex. Oracle PD, Agile, Team Center)
Minimum 3 years of experience managing product material compliance programs such as REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65, AD-DSL, EU WFD, EU MDR, US TSCA, or similar,
Hands on experience with embodied carbon studies, life cycle assessments (LCA) and environmental product declarations (EPD)
Demonstrated experience with project/program management.
English, fluent written and spoken.
Strong analytical skills and should have the ability to evaluate, analyze and present data.
