Summary:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, documentation, and operational support of the enterprise network, security, and UC infrastructure that Martin Marietta depends on to operate its thriving organization every day. This position will work closely with senior staff and subject matter experts to ensure the strategic, technical, and business alignment for all network solutions and services. This role requires a comprehensive technical background in various IT disciplines including but not limited to Networking, Security/SASE, Data Center, and SD-WAN as the role will support and consult on infrastructure projects as well as technical issues.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain governing principles for network design, deployment, and standardization
Participate in the selection of networking technologies and products based on business needs and requirements
Evaluate technical needs, requirements, and health of the network design and operations
Develop solutions to complex enterprise problems that drive system and process efficiencies
Utilize technical and industry knowledge to exercise good judgment, trade-off evaluation, and risk mitigation planning during the design and implementation project phases
Assist with timely network service delivery and network program/project related tasks
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
3+ years of experience designing large scale complex enterprise networks
5+ years of hands-on experience designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting enterprise architecture with an emphasis on networking, security/SASE, and UC technologies
Experience with RESTful APIs and scripting languages (Python) to support network orchestration and automation tasks
Strong experience with Switching (VLAN, Spanning Tree, Industrial), Routing (EIGRP, BGP), WAN Technologies (MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN), Security (Firewalls, IDS, IPS, and Web filtering, SASE)
Strong experience with Application Delivery Controllers (Reverse Proxy, Load Balancing)
Advanced knowledge of network management and monitoring tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal customers and users
Preferences:
CCNP, or other advanced level industry certifications
In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware and software
PKI and digital certificate management experience
Packet capture and analysis knowledge for advanced network troubleshooting
Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a dynamic team environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage projects, and explain technical terms
