The Residential Advisor provides guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in a dormitory living situation while helping them accomplish their goals and objectives. This role involves monitoring dormitories for safety, assisting in unit activities, and maintaining student files. The advisor is also responsible for providing counseling, conducting group sessions, and promoting a positive living environment. Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime when directed are expected.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support to students in a dormitory setting
Monitor dormitory safety and student behavior
Assist in organizing and facilitating unit activities
Prepare daily operations reports and administrative correspondence
Maintain and update student files and documentation
Enter case notes into the center information system
Conduct counseling sessions and promote independent living skills
Model appropriate behaviors and mentor students
Enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy
Provide positive customer service to students and staff
About Brunswick Job Corps Center
The Brunswick Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred.
A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required.
A valid in-State Driver's License preferred.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
