The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.
Holman is currently accepting applications for the role of Credit Manager.
What will you do?
Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information. Ensure integrity and consistency of credit process by managing workflow and credit analysis in accordance with Holman's credit policy.
Decide credit limits up to $20 million for clients requesting leasing and services, such as fuel and maintenance based on credit quality of clients. Ensure approvals, approvals with enhancements and declines are accurately documented and communicated to Sales.
Monitor and review customer credit accounts regularly in terms of changes to exposure (i.e. loss given default potential) and clients' credit profile in order to identify risks or opportunities for credit limit adjustments.
Support with development and oversee implementation of credit risk management strategies and policies. Identify and analyze trends and patterns related to credit risk and provide recommendations to management for an informed decision on credit risk appetite. Outline mitigating measures for potential risks.
Communicate with customers and prospects to explain credit parameters such as payment and leasing terms, required credit enhancements and other credit related topics. Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to handle client objections and push-backs.
Manage/improve the credit process by applying state-of-the-art credit tools and systems. Keep informed and proactively look out for technological improvements (e.g. AI, automation etc.) in the credit industry.
Actively manage clients on credit watch list and ensure exposure is managed in line with management's risk appetite.
Prepare concise and accurate reports and manage client databases (i.e. Moody's CreditLens, Salesforce).
Guide and support credit analysts, focusing on process improvement, training, and compliance, while providing oversight in a supportive capacity to departmental leadership.
Act as SME (subject matter expert) related to credit risk management and financial analysis proactively providing strategic recommendations, guidance, and insight to credit analysts, departmental staff, Sales team, legal counsel, and senior management.
Liaise with Senior management on regular basis to discuss critical accounts, bankruptcies, early credit warnings etc.
Jointly work with internal and external counsel on clients that go through structured refinancing procedures (out of court), Chapter 11 or Chapter 7. Prepare account statements (e.g. pre-petition and post-petition) that can be used by counsel for legal filings. Liaise with internal Vehicle Remarketing team for potential (voluntary or involuntary) asset repossession and remarketing needs.
Cooperate with legal and contract team to ensure contracts include relevant credit language (based on credit approval).
Regular meet with Supply Chain and Accounts Receivables Managers to check clients with high level of undelivered assets and/or unpaid invoices.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent work experience
Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
3-5+ years' experience, including 2+ at a leadership level
Demonstrated proficiency in assessing creditworthiness, analyzing financial statements, and conducting credit risk analysis
Experience with credit policies, approval processes, and the ability to manage credit limits in a B2B (business-to-business) environment
Knowledge of fleet management industry practices, including leasing, maintenance, and fuel management for fleet vehicles preferred
Experience in collaborating with legal teams on structured refinancing, bankruptcy cases, and legal filings
Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; may be acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments
Developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy
Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
Extensive knowledge of department processes
Works with other leaders to develop a common departmental vision or strategy
Adapts area/departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

Pay:
We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $97,450.00 - $141,300.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
