The CEC Manager will have a background in harm reduction and ties to the harm reduction programs across the state of TN, as well as research training. The manager will develop and coordinate CEC trainings in partnership with other staff. They will serve as the liaison between researchers and harm reduction programs and lead the recruitment of harm reduction programs to be a part of the Tennessee Harm Reduction Efforts for Advanced Data (THREAD) data collection. The manager will also recruit CEC members across the state with local knowledge of people who use drugs, coordinate and convene all CEC meetings, and provide ongoing consultation to researchers to ensure access to data from people who use drugs, to the end of assessing the impact of state efforts to improve harm reduction programs. The CEC coordinator will also work closely with the IRB coordinator to establish access to Meharry's IRB, create a payment system for use of the IRB, and will serve as a reviewer for IRB submissions. This position will travel across the state 25% of the time and will be virual 75%.
Daily Operations
Recruit CEC members and facilitate training for members
Convene all CEC research review studios
Recruit researchers to utilize both the Institutional Review Board and CEC
Provide education to researchers regarding data collection opportunities through harm reduction organizations
Recruit harm reduction organizations to utilize data capture system and common indicators of success
Establish access to eProtocol for THREAD partners that intend to do harm reduction research
Serve as the liaison between harm reduction agencies and researchers to ensure ethical and meaningful research is conducted that minimally disrupts harm reduction agency functions
In partnership with the evaluator and project directors develop THREAD data capture system
Facilitate annual point in time survey of harm reduction clients
Disseminate information regarding THREAD and outcomes of the project
Develop reports for the funding agency on THREAD outcomes
Other duties as indicated

Required Education and Experience
Masters degree and training in both research methods and community engagement.
