The Gumina lab has a position for an ambitious Post Doctoral Scholar to examine the role of inflammation in the progression of atherosclerosis. The PD Researcher will pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of Dr. Gumina; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of the role of inflammation in modulating atherosclerosis; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as by other agencies; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.
Doctoral degree in a biological or health sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in animal studies, molecular biology techniques, cell signaling pathways and prior training in atherosclerosis; immunology; biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology is strongly preferred; scientific publication record desired.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
