Job Description SummaryThe Innovative Care Recruitment Specialist will be a resource for recruiting participants into the Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders clinic and Center for Neuroinflammation and Neurotherapeutics' Innovative Care (IC) program and its Precision Neuroimmunology pipeline and clinical trials. This position will report to the Innovative Care Program Manager.
Job Description
Job duties include:
1. Be present in clinic touchdown space during agreed-upon hours (hours may change with notice depending on clinic volume and meeting schedule, at least 20 hours per week)
2. Proactively interact with clinical team members and with patients, to identify and follow-up on opportunities for recruitment to the IC program, including its Precision Neuroimmunology pipeline and clinical trials
3. Remain up-to-date on program's IC/clinical trial portfolio
4. Provide clinicians with up-to-date overview of IC and clinical trial portfolio and respond to questions about specific project/study recruitment criteria
5. Meet with potential IC program/precision neuroimmunology/clinical trial participants in clinic (and/or communicate with them outside of their clinic visit), to:
a. Provide more detail about the Innovative Care Program and particular projects/studies
b. Consent participants for research studies
6. Refer clinical research, including clinical trial, recruits to appropriate clinical research team member
7. Coordinate recruitment for IC/precision Neuroimmunology pipeline biosampling
a. Directly liaise with designated Bar-Or lab team member in the Center for Neuroinflammation and Neurotherapeutics
b. Coordinate and facilitate logistics of scheduling sample collection and drop off in lab
c. Ensure that every sample is properly utilized; reschedule sample collection as necessary
Requirements include:
1. Being reachable and responsive via text, email, Epic message during working hours
2. Ensuring appropriate plan made and communicated for time-sensitive follow up items
3. Sensitively stewarding potential clinic recruits in real-time during their clinic visit, in close coordination with clinic providers
4. Attending regularly scheduled team meetings, including weekly Tuesday clinical research team meeting and biweekly Thursday research meeting.
The candidate will need to be available Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 5pm (other hours are more flexible).
