Dr. Amanda Toland's laboratory in the Department of Cancer Biology and Genetics and the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) studies genetic susceptibility to cancer including characterization of variants of uncertain significance, polygenic risk using genetic epidemiology, the role of inherited germline genetics on somatic mutations in tumors, and cancer health disparities using a variety of population data, cell line and model species approaches. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Toland lab as a Researcher 2. This individual will function as a technical expert in cancer genetics and genomics, will work closely with the principal investigator (PI) to develop project goals, execute research experiments, and aid in dissemination of research findings. The Researcher 2 will also provide training and guidance to laboratory staff and students and will oversee laboratory management including ordering and research compliance. It is expected that the individual will adhere to high ethical and scientific standards.

Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in an appropriate genetics/biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Considerable (4+ yrs.) experience in a molecular genetics and/or genomics techniques is required; expertise in zebrafish work desired; expertise in CRISPR-cas9 mediated editing a plus, genomic analysis of gene expression and/or genotyping using R or other genomics pipelines preferred; experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity is preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
