Job Description
Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. The Manager, Anesthesia Services functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Operating Rooms and other approved anesthetizing locations in University Hospital, OSU East, The James Cancer Hospital, The Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospitals Clinic, Labor and Delivery, and OSU Harding. The team reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team consisting of registered nurses, surgical technologist, anesthesiologist, CRNAs, AAs, perioperative tech and surgeon provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of patient care outcomes, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and decreasing costs.
Position Summary: The Manager, Anesthesia Services collaborates with Anesthesiologists, OR Nursing staff, Materials systems personnel, CSS personnel and administrative staff to ensure that anesthesia equipment and supplies are readily available. The Manager, Anesthesia Services works as a member of the Anesthesia Management team to plan, implement and direct ongoing activities of the Perioperative Services that will optimize fiscal prudence, budgetary compliance and JCAHO standards. Focused on developing a team of engaged staff, the position is responsible for managing the human resources, clinical operations, and staffing to cover multiple hospitals and outpatients settings; educational enterprises; contractual agreements; overseeing budgets; participates in a broad range of operational decision-making affecting Anesthesiology and its reputation; and implements policies and procedures.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in health care or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous hospital and management experience preferred.
