The Strategy and Implementation Support is mainly responsible for investigating daily discrepancies during the daily balancing process of the bank’s Transactional Monitoring System. This position reports to the AML Risk Strategy & Planning Officer and provides support to identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and technology opportunities. Work with cross functional teams across the department to execute remediation, action plans, and strategic initiatives as necessary. Provides administrative support during testing and monitoring reviews, regulatory exams, audits, and model validations. Create and compile monthly metrics or reports for BSA management.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for investigating and solving discrepancies noted during the daily balancing process of the Transactional Monitoring System to ensure input processing and data quality.
Assist in the timely closing of the Transactional Monitoring System and generation of alerts.
Provide support to identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and technology opportunities.
Work with cross functional teams across the department and enterprise to execute remediation, action plans, and strategic initiatives as necessary.
Provide administrative support during testing and monitoring reviews, regulatory exams, audits, and model validations.
Support all internal and external exam management activities including coordination, communications, document retrieval, and response to inquiries as relates to BSA/AML and sanctions.
Create and compile monthly or quarterly metrics, statistics, reports, and pertinent information at the direction of BSA management.
Learn and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant internal systems, as applicable and necessary to perform duties.
Provide support to the OFAC unit; duties include the alert clearing of daily OFAC alerts or 314a matches.
Other duties assigned or special projects.
Complete all required internal training and other optional external and internal trainings, as necessary.
Maintain a detailed knowledge and operational skill set of applicable Microsoft office suites.
Learn and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant internal systems, as applicable and necessary to perform duties.
Comply with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
Other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Education and /or Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or AML/BSA/OFAC certifications are preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Must have 2 years in the financial services industry, preferably in the operational side. Experience with payment processing, processes mapping, or bank operations.
Technical and/or Essential Knowledge:
Knowledge of applicable BSA/AML and OFAC regulations, compliance controls, banking financial principles, products and process involved in banking activities. Ability to manage multiple tasks. MS Word Advanced, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint are required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
