Job Description
A day in the Life:
Supervise and lead regulatory compliance for hazardous materials distribution, including DOT, IATA, IMDG, and other applicable standards.
Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and compliance programs related to hazardous material handling and transport.
Assist the line manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to meet compliance requirements for dangerous goods in classification, packing, labeling, storage, and shipping.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure full regulatory compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Train and guide team members on regulatory updates and standard methodologies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory matters for hazardous material compliance.
Lead the TTB Regulated Alcohol Formulations packaged by the Bridgewater Operations team.
Offer outstanding support to suppliers, inventory teams, customer service, marketing, operations, transport, safety, and sales teams regarding regulatory aspects.
Rigorously adhere to and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) or work instructions (WINs) for inbound and outbound activities.
Identify cost savings and improvements through Practical Process Improvements (PPI) initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational standards align with regulatory requirements.
Keys to Success:
Education
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, Industrial Safety, or a related field is required.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or hazardous materials management, preferably in a supervisory role.
Validated experience in the transport of dangerous goods within a Distribution Operations or Chemicals environment.
Strong understanding of IATA/IMDG/DOT regulations and appropriate qualifications.
Certification in hazardous materials handling or regulatory affairs is a plus.
