Demonstrates the ability to administer quality nursing care in a professional manner which supports the patient/significant others utilizing the nursing process with coaching and mentoring from his/her team members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Systematically and continually collects data regarding the health status of the client. The data is recorded, accessible and communicated to appropriate members of the Interdisciplinary Healthcare Team.
Coordinates, implements and evaluates a comprehensive age specific individualized plan of care for the client, partnering with the patient and family, significant other and other healthcare providers to identify and prioritize needs and to obtain expected outcomes.
Ensures accuracy in the medication process.
Demonstrates ongoing individual accountability to ensure positive quality outcomes (Core measures, NDNQI indicators, Nurse Sensitive indicators, and other hospital and unit specific measures).
Demonstrates ability in planning, delegation, and coordination of work group activities essential for the provision of quality nursing care in a safe and appropriate environment utilizing Professional Standards and current research and evidence-based practices (EBP).
Seeks and supports opportunities for professional growth and development, which may include but not limited to contact hours, inservices, certifications, degree attainment, etc.
Provides support to peers and staff by serving as coach and/or mentor and offering consistent and visible support to team members.
Provides feedback to healthcare team members through formal and informal/real-time communication to provide positive input, as well as opportunities for improvement.
Applies principles of caring and healing in interactions with patients, families and colleagues.
Supports shared decision-making by attending staff meetings and/or reading minutes of the meetings, providing feedback and/or participating on unit-based teams and/or Shore Health System committees/councils.

Qualifications
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
Current AHA BLS certification required.
ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required BUT can be obtained during orientation period.
