Position Overview:
Wintrust is recruiting for a VP, Credit Administration to support our Wheaton Bank & Trust Business Banking credit team. This position will be responsible for preparing credit proposals, formulating and recommending lending approval/denial decisions on business purpose loan requests. This position interacts with business banking lenders and team underwriters to provide assistance regarding underwriting and portfolio management activities. Participate in and present summary reports for bank, business unit leadership.
What you will be doing:
Underwrite and prepare Credit Approval Presentations for Business Banking loans primarily for new requests and complex renewals with adherence to loan policy, guidelines and procedures. The portfolio consists primarily of C&I loans, with some smaller investment real estate transactions and sizeable NFP clients. Analysis to include review of loan structure, collateral analysis, cash flow to determine ability to service debt, and covenant compliance. Work with Lenders to present to appropriate approvers as needed.
Manage the underwriting workflow of the business banking credit team, maintaining the accuracy of the team’s underwriting pipeline tracker, and assigning tasks based on capacity and due date.
Prepare past dues report, upcoming administrative maturities report, and publish the agenda for the joint business banking pipeline conference call, all on a weekly basis.
Act as initial deal filter for underwriting requests, escalating as appropriate.
Act as the primary training resource for other analysts on the team, with the goal of presenting on various credit topics in weekly pipeline meetings.
Prepare annual reviews and credit memos as needed.
Spread financial statements for existing clients and prospects, test covenant compliance
Assist in the closing of loans as needed, and in reviewing and maintaining credit files and compliance reviews.
Secured lending authority to cosign commercial loan approvals
Qualifications:
5+ years of Commercial Credit analysis experience
Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of financial ratios, cash flow analysis, and GAAP and tax accounting in order to underwrite credit opportunities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates relationship management, credit analysis and credit administration skills utilizing Credit / Bank policies and procedures.
