The Senior Project Manager II independently manages projects and programs typically valued under $10M, overseeing planning, scheduling, and control activities. This role involves leading project teams of over ten members, often handling complex, multidisciplinary projects requiring strong leadership. Responsibilities include setting project priorities, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all project aspects, directing team activities, staying updated on new technologies and industry trends, and recommending process improvements. The role also involves managing project budgets, coordinating with finance and project controls, and mentoring other project managers. Proficiency in all aspects of project management, including large-scale complex projects, is essential.
PMP Certification: Active certification required
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution.
Develop and track project budgets, ensuring proper progress through regular client, engineer, and management interfaces.
Manage contracts and vendor interfaces.
Develop project schedules to manage risk, track progress, enforce accountability, and manage critical path and float.
Prepare and deliver communications to senior management.
Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies for assigned projects.
Provide outage support, including OCC.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from an accredited institution and 14 years of technical experience; OR an AA/AS degree and 16 years of technical experience; OR a High School Diploma or GED and 18 years of technical experience.
An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
Project Management certification required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in error reduction, human performance improvement, and cost-effective work execution.
Experience managing complex projects, on-line work management, or refueling and forced outage activities.
Advanced project management techniques at commercial nuclear power plants or similar facilities.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
Supervisory experience.
Participation in industry committees or leading internal audits or assessments.
Proficiency in project management and budget process software.
Ability to evaluate organizational, personal, technical, and maintenance programs, procedures, schedules, and cost performance.
Knowledge of code and regulatory requirements related to operations, construction, maintenance, engineering, and project activities.
Proficiency in software programs such as Passport and MS Office.
Diverse assignment experience, involving significant new job skills or knowledge acquisition, adding value for career progression.
