We are looking for a highly motivated Data Center Engineer to join our team. Having depth and breadth knowledge of working in data center facilities in a large-scale distributed environment is a strength you'll need. You should have deep knowledge and experience in at least one of the following core areas: Project Management, Hardware Operations, Network Operations or Data Center Operations.
What you'll be doing:
Act as site lead for our Santa Clara Data Center Operations teams. Project manage highly complex and impactful data center projects, with a specialty on one of our large tenants, IPP.
Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware.
Contribute to the development of the global DC knowledge base, with best industry practices.
Lead teams to deploy new data center infrastructure, deliver server upgrades, integration, rebuild and other projects as required.
Build plans to optimize power, cooling and network resources.
Forecast to efficiently match supply to demand. Predict data center growth and scaling issues before they occur and implement solutions. You will acquire new facilities and optimize existing ones to support the business growth.
Forward thinking and will support all DC teams to reduce potential risks to upcoming projects.
Hunt for and resolve issues as well as analyze data looking for trends and systemic issues. Implement process improvements and develop a cutting-edge operational environment.
What we need to see:
7+ years of experience in large-scale data center hardware, building and managing data centers and critical facilities.
BS, BA, or BEng degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with Data Center build and operations. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record.
Experience providing client-facing, direct customer support and service. Ability to understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
Experience in managing vendors and contractors workforce.
Strong documentation and presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers and staff.
Demonstrable ability to prioritize effectively, and experience with technical project management.
Work in a constantly evolving, hands-on, startup environment. Ability to drive implementation and flexibility to support other functions when needed.
Ability to make decisions and work with minimal direction. Self-starter with growth mindsets, continuous learning, and constantly looking to improve the team and drive operational excellence.
Ways to stand out of the crowd:
Experience in large-scale data centers with hardware and software, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and customers.
Product System Engineering experience, including managing and monitoring all infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance
Deep understanding of data center power and cooling infrastructure, network, and cabling infrastructure. Participated in Engineering design reviews. Composed SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and drove implementation accordingly
Experience with CMDB, DCIM, (Netbox/Nautobot), ServiceNow, Jira, and Inventory Management tools or equivalent. Standardize and automate processes using scripting technology. Enable faster and smarter business processes and develop meaningful analytics.
Bridge cross-functional teams with a big picture and strategic outlook. Elevate team with business impact. Data-driven. Use data to tell the stories, analyze gaps, and influence changes.

The base salary range is 140,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
