As an Operations Manager on our team, you'll be helping to keep our distribution center operating smoothly. From training to problem solving to maintaining equipment, your work will help save lives. The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational activities of a variety of functional departments within the distribution center for our 2nd shift.
Mid Shift: Monday through Friday, 2 PM- 11 PM or Finish
Plans, organizes, and directs warehouse and selected office functions to ensure order fulfillment with 100% customer satisfaction.
Development of supervisory team
Leads warehouse employees and supervisors
Manages activities of a team that are moderately complex
Maintain a positive morale, work standards and developing teams
Trains and manages performance of supervisors and other direct reports.
Assertively seeks solutions at the root level of problems.
Builds teamwork among DC management team and employees.
Ensures warehouse operations comply with federal, state, local and company policies.
Controls expenses
Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
Critical Skills
2+ years of managerial experience
Experience managing, leading and developing supervisors; this is a hands- on manager role with most time being spent on the floor engaging and supporting the team
Management skills - coaching and development of supervisors
Demonstrated employee engagement skills
Strong communications skills - open and candid verbal and written communications; ability to debate, decide and commit effectively at all levels and across all functional areas
Computer proficiency in MS Office
Very thorough knowledge of Operations Management
Adept at strategic thinking and strategic business planning
Must be open to flexible hours, Monday through Friday, with a typical start time of 2p
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Excellent organizational skills
4+ years of management experience with exposure to leading other people leaders highly preferred
Follow up and follow through
Experience managing budgets and expenses
SAP and AS400 experience
Project Management experience
Adept at interpreting and analyzing data
Six Sigma training or experience
Physical Requirements
High energy distribution center environment
Will be required to be on-call for weekend and/or holiday coverage
May be required to work various shifts
Some overtime required
