A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Senior Electrical Designeris responsible for the electrical equipment, raceway, and conductor layout and design of electrical power distribution systems for all ECT2 water treatment and biogas generation projects. This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Prepare detail drawings, including one-line diagrams, cable routing layouts, underground duct bank details, cable tray layout, lighting layouts, electrical general arrangement drawings, instrumentation layouts, and electrical installation detail drawings.
Create and maintain spreadsheet tables associated with drawings (i.e. power panel schedules, cable schedules, etc.)
Conduct quality control and quality assurance of design documents to ensure compliance with project technical requirements.
Support technical coordination with all disciplines related to electrical engineering design including mechanical, process, I&C, civil and structural engineering.
Adhere to and assist in the development of company AutoCAD tools, standards, and practicesfor electrical designs.
Create electrical design drawing packages in AutoCAD and maintain drawing archives.
Participate in project team design reviews and facilitate electrical design deliverable reviews.
Coordinate with equipment vendors to receive accurate 3D part files and incorporate into AutoCAD Plant 3D electrical design model.
Assist with fabrication and construction activities including RFI responses as required.
Create field redlines of as-built systems and incorporate into record drawings.
Learn and understand the highly technical product that Montrose Environment is delivering to our customers.
Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
Availability to travel 10% of the time, domestically and internationally, to support the project team in the delivery of project electrical designs.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year technical certification or Bachelor's degree
5+ years' experience in electrical design or a related field
5+ years' experience in working with electrical codes and standards including NEC (NFPA 70)
7+ years' experience using 3D CAD software
Mastery in the use of AutoCAD and Plant 3D (release of 2018 or above)
Experience managing production of drawing sets from creation, markups, and modifications
Demonstrated understanding of Structural, Mechanical and Instrumentation layouts to inform the design and coordination of electrical drawings.
Experience developing 3D electrical system modeling including above ground and underground conduit runs, electrical room general arrangements, cable trays, local control panels, disconnect switches, electrical and instrument junction boxes, ect.
Experience working with AutoCAD Sheet Set manager and External References
Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office software, and other Company and discipline specific software applications
Excellent organizational skills, planning skills and self-starter with good work ethic and sense of urgency
Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Efficiency in NavisWorks and AutoCAD Plant 3D
Experience developing and implementing CAD standards / Library
Experience with NEC (National Electrical Code)
Experience managing CAD & Related software vendors
Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Bluebeam Studio

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee may be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, and is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as being able to operate a keyboard which may require firm/strong grasping and repetitive hand control.
