Union Analyst (CWS)



Job Description Summary

The Union Analyst will be responsible for employees' union data maintenance & governance, extraction and calculation of union benefits, reconciliation of Workday/JDE payroll results, among other analytical and accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with very good communication skills, strong attention to detail, solid Excel proficiency and strong understanding of a variety of technical applications (Workday, JDE, Kronos). The nature of the role calls for excellent Customer Service skills and building rapport with the union representatives.

Responsibilities:


  • Application and Understanding of Multiple Collective Bargaining Agreements

  • Responsible for period calculation and payments of all union benefits

  • Required to Reconcile Payroll Calculations in Workday, JDE and Kronos vs Manual Calculation to Pay Complete

  • Responsible for A/P analysis and preparation of data for mass load for payment including client billing

  • Maintenance & governance of employees' union data, including new hire review/sign off, JDE payroll and Kronos timekeeping set-up (JDE Job type/Step), paybook, pay rule assignments), benefits entry, compensation program entry and absence validation.

  • Data Entry into Workday for employee elected union benefits

  • Responsible for full understanding of system functionality and full union employee life cycle

  • Extraction and posting of workday and union payment results

  • Liaison with Labor Relations Lead

  • Creation of Workday/JDE and/or Kronos Technical Specs for New or Renewal of Collective Bargaining Agreements (Time & Labor, Compensation, Absence & Benefit Rules)

  • Ability to manage and liaise with unions or attorneys for Union Audits

  • Liaison with Human Resources and other applicable business lines

  • Provide End User assistance on issues with all forms, policies, procedures and Wage Schedules

  • Adept at working in a shared services environment and maintaining Service Level Agreement's

  • Assistance with other analytical and accounting tasks as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits, payroll, and/or finance in a corporate environment working with unions

  • Strong understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements

  • Able to understand and apply technical applications (ERP)

  • Customer service oriented with excellent and oral/written communication skills

  • Advanced MS Suite skills, specifically with Excel, are essential to the position

  • Ability to interpret and implement policy and procedures

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised

  • Excellent multi tasker with ability to adjust priorities while maintaining SLA's

  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $42,500.00 - $50,000.00
