Volt is immediately hiring Inspection & Repair Operator 2 for a company located in Austin, TX.
As an Inspection & Repair Operator 2 you will:
Sets up station with the correct process inspection documents, screens, and/or workflow instructions.
Performs in process and online "go/no go" inspections of various types of electronics, subassemblies, peripherals or a larger assembly, identifying defects according to workmanship standards.
Performs touch-up and repairs.
Reads and interprets the manufacturing process instructions, visual aids/drawings (e.g. microscope and magnifying lenses).
Scans product and enters into the shop floor control system or manual tracking systems when applicable.
Adjusts, trims or otherwise processes materials or components found on product in order to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
Communicates any process problems with peers, supervisors/leads and/or manufacturing support.
Documents workload, calculating the number of products inspected and rejected.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and distance. Demonstrates basic manufacturing line knowledge and participates in process. Has awareness of Flex technologies/ techniques. Ability to solder, and an understanding of basic inspection techniques. The ability to comprehend electronics terminology read and interpret the manufacturing process instructions and visual aids. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics, loading, mechanical assembly, point to point wiring; Inspection: loading, components; drawings and follow instructions.
Typically requires advanced soldering and inspection skills and the ability to interpret and utilize blueprints. Demonstrates advanced manufacturing line skills, which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or lead/guide other employees.
Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisors of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Pay Rate Range: $20.00 -$23.00/hr on W2
