CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Student Accounts Advisor provides high-level specialized assistance to students, parents, and all University partners regarding detailed financial analysis of all student accounts' processes. Additionally, the Student Accounts Advisor is responsible for financial processes that support financial departmental operations.
This position provides subject matter expertise on all high-level customer service escalations and delivers first-class service to students, parents, external organizations, and all other student related units.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Resolves all high-level inquiries for students and parents regarding Student Accounts' financial information as the subject matter experts in person and via the University case management system. Respond and resolve specific request for students from Senior leadership Educates students and parents in University, State and Federal policies and guidelines regarding payment plans, third party sponsored payments, tuition tax forms, and other financial services. Conducts specialized and in-depth financial analysis of the students' accounts upon request. Provide support to non-enrolled students for delinquent or past due balances. Determine student account status and provide resolution for all financial holds. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Responsible for the accuracy of the financial transactions posted to the student information system. Support other University units and external partners with business processes that impact the students' account.

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
Proficient in student financial systems.
Ability to quickly adapt to the Higher-Education environment and build relationships within the University community and external partners.
Department Specific Functions
Provide and validate 1098T tax data and form reporting breakdown per IRS regulations and University guidelines.
Assist students and delegates on Monthly Payment Plan options and requirements.
Guide students and families on the state Florida Prepaid Plan options related to the University.
Establishes and maintains Third Party Sponsors contact information, billing, documentation, processes, and files for the purposes of receiving payments for services provided and ensure compliancy.
Process and reviews all student financial refunds, stale dated check, and unclaimed property due diligence.
Complete daily entries of all tuition remission and tuition waivers requests per Financial Planning and Benefits policies.
Educate students on Title IV permissions per Federal regulations in conjunction with the Financial Aid Office.
Advise former students on past due balances and account financial breakdowns, including available payment options.
Provide support to students and delegates on all University payment options, including online and in-person payments.
Provide information related to the published University Tuition and Fees rates inclusive of special pricing programs specific to academic programs for all careers.
Validate term pricing in collaboration with Financial Planning and Student Affairs to ensure accurate billing of tuition and fees for all careers and programs at the University.
Support in office-wide initiatives like Cancellation for Non-Payment and Reinstatement.
Monitor students' accounts for accuracy and submit corrective entries accordingly.
Handle governmental payments and billing adhering to specific military departments (EX: VA).
Proficient in student information systems and support IT testing for any system upgrades or changes.
Ability to identify business process improvements and to address it with management team and departmental system director.
Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to Student Accounts management related to specific processes within the department.
