Our integrated facilities are in California, Texas. and Virginia specializes in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.
We are looking for enthusiastic Sr. Process Controls Engineer to join our Team! We have opportunities at our La Porte, TX (greater Houston area).
This position is responsible for production support of pharmaceutical ingredients.
JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Process Controls System Engineer position will be responsible for all automation-related equipment, software, and associated life cycle processes. The role will include supervision of contract resources for projects and requires the individual to be customer service driven, self-starter with a strong desire to work for a highly fast-paced pharmaceutical company. The position supports a 24-hour operation and must be available after hours for planned and unplanned support. Works under only general direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage automation projects from scope through startup.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support for the facility automation systems.
• Provide engineering support to projects within other business functions such as the laboratory and maintenance.
• Maintain and explore methods for improving the compliance position of the automation systems, including validation, data integrity, and audits.
• Perform all aspects of monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization, and maintenance of the facility's automation system infrastructure (hardware and software).
• Continue development of configuration and programming standards for the automation systems.
• Provide day-to-day automation system administration.
• Maintain vendor contracts to manage 3rd party system support.
• Support customer and regulatory audits.
• Manufacturing Technician automation training.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
• In depth knowledge of Foxboro, Allen Bradley PLC, Rockwell Software, OSI PI, and Microsoft Windows, Delta V is a plus
• Knowledge of computer system validation.
• Experience in API Manufacturing Environment.
• Professional Engineer Certification a plus.
• Dream Reports, Electronic Batch Records
• Able to design control logic and implement into DCS
Special Work Conditions: Workplace may include areas where a wide variety of chemical materials are used and stored. May involve potential exposure to variable noise levels. Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety. May be required to utilize a variety of personal protective equipment. May need to work outside of normal office hours.
