NMC Cat is seeking a Director of Sales who is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the CAT Machine Group sales organization. The Director of Sales manages support functions essential to sales force productivity. These include Key performance indicator optimization and management, planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of sales force talent. The Director of Sales will works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization supported.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES*:


  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization's planning efforts. As needed, coordinates planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the firm.

  • Supports the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensures quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels, resources and Key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the NMC Sales Process throughout the CAT Machine Group

  • Works to ensure all sales organization objectives are assigned in a timely fashion.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process and methodology improvement. Works closely with sales team to inspect sales process and methodology quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists sales team in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.

  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.

  • Coordinates training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization supported.

  • Critical in helping manage the relationship between the dealership and OEM.

  • Working with Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources, provides assistance with sales incentive compensation administration on an as-needed basis, or when required to arbitrate or clarify the application of sales compensation program policies and procedures.

  • Develops coaching and performance improvement plans to ensure NMC objectives and goals are met through the sales organization.

  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.

  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key man

  • Builds and manages a competent team within each branch by effectively hiring, training and developing employees, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling, and administering disciplinary procedures. Develops and submits talent inventory assessments for branch strength and provides continued training opportunities.

  • Responsible for driving accountability throughout the organization to ensure performance metrics are being achieved.

  • Reviews and approves the implementation of organizational plans that support the Business Units Master Plan.

  • Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities. Issues specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives.

  • Directs, monitors, and appraises the performance of units immediately reporting and provides the necessary coordination between activities.

  • Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates, and recommends effective personnel action.

  • Keeps employees informed as to company/department plans and progress.

  • Coordinates activities of assigned units with those of other company units. Seeks mutual agreement on problems involving coordination.

  • Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action. Ensures compliance within area of responsibility. Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures.

  • Reviews and endorses or revises budget proposals received from direct reports. Submits budgets for assigned activities in accordance with the budget procedure. Approves budget expenses up to authorized dollar amounts.
