Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to ensure our products meet all quality standards. This individual will perform machine operation, machine programming, and visual inspection of circuit boards both through hole and surface mount assemblies to released specifications. They will be responsible for learning the startup, operation, shutdown, and routine maintenance of the inspection equipment and programming. This is a first-shift position with flexible scheduling, paid training, and good benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect materials and products to determine whether they meet X-ES standards
Support procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety
Learn the startup, operation, programming, shutdown, and routine maintenance of the inspection equipment (AOI, X-Ray, etc.)
Perform all types of machine operation, machine programming, and visual inspection of circuit boards both through hole and surface mount assemblies
Utilize output from inspection equipment to assess conformity of PCBAs
Using magnification aids and microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards
Continuously measure and improve quality/repair procedures, documentation, and processing time
Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD)
Conduct testing to ensure product will function properly and meets customer requirements
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate)
Minimum of three (3+) years of related experience in quality control, inspection, electronics, or related field (preferably with AOI inspection/AOI programming)
Successful completion of on-the-job IPC training and certification
Successful completion of off-site Omron 3D AOI training
Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently and independently while troubleshooting and problem-solving
Good hand dexterity and coordination is necessary as products and components are typically very small
Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI
Desired Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Electronics, or equivalent work experience preferred
Prior experience reading and understanding component datasheets
Prior experience programming and operating 3D AOI and X-Ray machines
IPC certified or an understanding of the standard is preferred
Knowledge in electronics and mechanical assemblies is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills
