Job Description:

As a Welder, you play an essential role in setting up, operating, and maintaining various Welding Sheet Metal machines, and helping with operating up to Level 2 Sheet Metal Machines. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Set up and operate Welding Machines (Sheet Metal) as well as up to Level 2 machines:

    • MIG Welding

    • TIG Welding

    • Aluminum Welding

    • Spot Welding

    • List of Level 2 Machines:

      • Bridge Port Machine

      • Drill / Tap Machines

      • Hardware Machines





  • Help out with CNC Machine Operator up to Level 1:

    • Jaws Machine

    • Lathe Machine

    • Roller Machines

    • Sanding Machines

    • Horizontal / Vertical Saw Machines








  • Perform daily maintenance on above equipment.

  • Inspect parts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WELDER


  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Certificate from college or technical school

  • Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Certification required.  Yearly Structural Welding Code Sheet Steel, AWS D1.3-08 Edition required.

  • Must have good housekeeping practices and the ability to adhere to all Company procedures, including but not limited to procedures covering production work and safety

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

  • Ability to log in, log out, and easily navigate through MS Windows-based interface

  • Basic mathematical skills, including ability to calculate and compute all units of measure

  • Intermediate reasoning ability skills, including ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in various forms

  • Detail-oriented and dedicated team player and self-starter
