Job Description
Position Overview
As a Manager, Renewable Development, you will manage the transition from development to execution of utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects throughout the United States. You will work on a cross-functional team, collaborating with multiple departments across the organization and external stakeholders. This position will be in our Chicago headquarters.
Responsibilities
Support late stage contracting meetings with offtake partners, coordinating amongst teammates in Renewable Development, Renewable Engineering, Environmental Compliance and Strategy, Legal, Renewable Project Management, Interconnection and Grid Analysis, Procurement, Mergers & Acquisitions, Contracts and other departments as well as third party vendors and counsel.
Lead diligence efforts to enable prompt, high quality information sharing between the company and offtake partners.
Align projects with long-term company strategy and initiatives
Assist project budgeting and scheduling.
Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.
Required Skills
Bachelors degree.
4+ years of work experience in the renewable and/or clean energy industry or relevant experience.
Valid Driver's License.
Travel as needed, though not regularly.
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's in business or engineering. Master's Degree, JD or MBA is a plus.
Relevant work experience in originating, engineering, managing the development of, or managing the construction of complex energy infrastructure projects (wind, solar, energy storage, transmission lines and other power generation technologies).
Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Ability to write effective, concise reports and prepare presentations.
Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
A sense of urgency and ability to work through ambiguity.
