Johnsonville products are enjoyed in 45 countries and served in 130 sports stadiums throughout the U.S. Director, Sales Strategy Position Overview: The Director of Sales Strategy for our Grilling & Cooking Brands will lead the integration of Brand, Category, and Channel strategies into a clear Johnsonville Trade Strategy. The Director, Sales Strategy will drive opportunities across all core business drivers including pricing, placement, promotion, distribution for all channels and classes of trade. This position provides category expertise, a deep understanding of the nuances of the retail environment to enable better partnerships with Sales and Marketing to drive growth. The Director, Sales Strategy role develops and leads the annual go to market strategy for our Grilling & Cooking Brands. This position aligns and maximizes customer and brand strategies to capitalize on growth opportunities. Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate the annual Brand & Customer Sales Planning processes to align with customer requirements & timelines
Own and drive development and delivery trade strategy and annual playbook
Lead the timely release of go-to-market strategies, tactics, and KPIs to enable effective sales execution with customers
Partner with Sales in the development and sell-in of annual customer plans with customers
Partner with Category Leadership & Revenue Growth Management (RGM) to develop effective go-to-market strategies and tactics with customers
Partner and serve as the primary contact and advocate between Sales and Marketing to enable effective execution of go-to-market strategies with customers
Translate brand priorities into go-to-market strategies and KPIs that enable improved execution with customers
Proactively conduct ongoing analysis and derives insights to evolve go-to-market strategies aligned to customer opportunities
Proactively identify and scorecard business risks, opportunities and contingencies with Sales and Marketing, to develop the annual plan and KPIs
Participate withRGM to identify and solve gaps to plan within the ROC process
Monitor and scorecard execution of trade strategy with RGM team
Coach the Sales Strategy Manager
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or master's degree preferred, or equivalent job-related experience is required
Experience:
7+ years of Trade Marketing, Sales Strategy, Field Sales, or similar discipline experience required
Skills:
Leadership experience with proven track record
Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, listening), organization and presentation skills with the ability to interact with all levels of Johnsonville customers and members
Ability to develop objective point-of-view, be a strategic thought leader on team, building constructive rapport with internal clients
Ability to exhibit thought leadership and influence senior team members
Ability to contribute to a strong team environment with positive and constructive input and desire to improve the Commercial Planning team and function
Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Database Management)
Syndicated POS data tool expertise (i.e., IRI Unify, Nielsen Nitro/Answers)
Customer POS and loyalty card data expertise (i.e., dunnhumby, Luminate, 84.51, EYC)
