Supervise, directly and through production supervisors, all aspects of the department. This includes safety, administration at the plant site, planning, scheduling, production, shipping, quality, product development, environmental and technical compliance, and personnel management.
Attends supervisor’s pre-shift meeting on a regular basis. Builds effective teams in the department by participating in employee interviews and selection. Becomes proficient at operating and maintaining all Department equipment in order to train supervisors and hourly employees. Participates in annual budgeting and goal setting process.
Responsible for achieving departmental targets established for safety, turnover, production, manhours and quality by holding supervisors accountable for his/her crew obtaining departmental goals. Communicates daily with supervisors regarding performance in their areas of responsibility. Ensures hourly employees receive feedback daily regarding their performance in the above areas with an emphasis on where they stand week-to-date on production incentive pay.
Develops supervisors to maximum potential through training and personal interaction. Completes formal performance review annually for all department supervisors. Ensures that all paperwork is completed properly and in timely manner.
