Description: Job Title: Production Supervisor (Coach)
Location: Duncan, SC
Shifts Available:
2nd Shift: 7pm to 7am, Sunday night through Saturday morning
12 Hour Shifts, 6 days per week
Job Description: We are seeking two Production Supervisors (Coaches) to join our team in Duncan, SC. This role involves supervising, coaching, and supporting plant employees in a self-directed, just-in-time environment. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and direction to production employees, including assignments, development, productivity, and promoting 5S housekeeping standards. Flexibility to rotate between day and night shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspire and motivate plant staff to achieve high efficiency.
Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign them to experienced workers for training.
Monitor assembly lines to ensure adherence to production and quality standards.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
Provide training, direction, encouragement, and motivation to employees.
Adjust coaching techniques based on team members' strengths and weaknesses.
Analyze team members' strengths and weaknesses to develop strategies.
Enforce health and safety rules and regulations.
Resolve team issues or collaborate with employees for problem resolution.
Review production schedules and coordinate with the material department.
Monitor workstations to ensure proper performance and material usage.
Recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service.
Generate cost reduction opportunities and initiate process improvements.
Coordinate major initiatives and kaizen events.
Implement and train employees on MOS & Lean/Sigma processes.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and techniques for efficient manufacturing and distribution.
Familiarity with machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
Understanding of automotive plant functions such as maintenance, quality, production control, safety, operations, and materials.
Knowledge of strategies like product lifecycle management (PLM), just-in-time, and self-directed teams.
Familiarity with organizational rules, regulations, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge of environmental control regulations and compliance.
Ability to create results, build teams, foster trust, and manage resistance to change.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess multiple events and circumstances.
Ability to evaluate alternatives and anticipate consequences.
Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities and time frames.
Associate's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of ISO 14001, OSHA, and TS16949 requirements and compliance.
