Job Summary The Director of SEC Reporting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of all SEC financial reporting. This leader will develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, and ensure financial statements are prepared and reviewed in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations. The position will also assist in planning and leading business partners and the accounting team to ensure that SOX controls and processes are in place and operating effectively.

Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the preparation and filing for all SEC reporting and provide leadership to the accounting team to ensure proper execution of SOX internal controls over financial reporting including supporting the preparation of 10-K, 10-Q, 8-Ks and the complete and accurate accounting records.
Lead the identification and evaluation process improvements across the accounting function including automation, improved control and usage of spreadsheets and related process, increase and enhance use of reporting tools, system enhancements or implementation and integration efforts to reduce cost, improve efficiency or reduce risk across the accounting function.
Lead the research, evaluation and documentation of transactions, legal contracts, business practices, and policies and interpret to ensure compliance with accounting and external reporting requirements.
Lead efforts to support strategic finance initiative including research, presentations and analysis including coordination on a cross-functional basis including with senior and executive management.
Lead interactions with external auditors or regulators on key technical accounting or financial reporting matters.
Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related.
Minimum experience required: 12+ Years in accounting or finance, including experience working for a category IV bank in a role focused on SEC reporting.
4+ years of leadership experience.
2+ years working on complex accounting projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA.

Strong analytical and organizational, including research skills regarding current and prospective updates to SEC and regulatory reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to see big picture and provide insight and analysis to key business and accounting initiatives.
Banking experience strongly preferred, but not required.
Must be team oriented and able to lead growth and development of personnel.
Must be able to handle multiple assignments and be deadline oriented.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Up to 10% travel expected for this role.
