Job Title: Mechanical Planner III - Nuclear Projects
Work Location: Onsite in Richland, WA
Duration: 12+ month contract
Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare mechanical work packages for both large- and small-scale projects within the Nuclear Projects organization.
Ensure projects are executed safely, reliably, and efficiently, adhering to company policies, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Develop detailed work instructions for mechanical and contract maintenance teams, including procurement recommendations for necessary materials.
Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities, providing input to improve work package quality.
Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to resolve work package issues.
Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required for planned work packages.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation such as OOS's, RWP's, welding/grinding permits, and regulatory/code documentation.
Verify that work instructions comply with all applicable station procedures and standards.
Review and approve work packages to ensure safety, quality, and technical rigor.
Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development.
Manage projects involving other system planners or contractors.
Participate in work control/scheduling meetings and other relevant reviews to support station processes and changes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six years of experience in a technical area (maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with eight years of experience in a technical area.
OR High school diploma or GED with technical training or education similar to an in-grade apprenticeship program and six years of experience in a technical area.
OR High school diploma or GED with ten years of experience in a technical area.
Educational experience from an accredited college or university can be considered year-for-year in exchange for work experience in a technical area.
Preferred Experience:
Two years of experience in a nuclear environment is highly desired but not required.
Additional Requirements:
Green Badge Level 2: Must complete an ePHQ, full background screen, and FFD testing. Access to various areas within the plant is granted based on the UAR.
