Your Role:
At EMD Electronics, the Maintenance Mechanic will support production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment to include pumps, reciprocating compressors, agitators, gear boxes, and process refrigeration systems.
Perform basic building maintenance throughout the site.
Utilize diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions.
Effectively communicate job status, document job activities and observations.
Accurately perform inventory transactions.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with site procedures and safety programs.
Dayshift position but includes opportunity for scheduled and emergency overtime on nights and weekends. Transition to a rotating shift possible.
Physical Attributes:
Work in confined spaces and at heights of 60 feet.
Use of hand and power tools including precision measuring instruments.
Operate forklift and/or aerial work platforms.

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Trade School certificate OR Participation in a union mechanical apprenticeship.
Experience with safety work permits and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Previous process experience in a chemical plant.
Knowledge of basic electricity.
Knowledge of mill, drill, and lathe operations including understanding of dimension, tolerance, and fit.
Knowledge of rolling element and journal bearing replacement and maintenance.
Lubrication practices and principles.
Static & dynamic seal, couplings, and drives & alignment maintenance.
Experience with the setup and operation of an Oxy-Acetylene Torch, fitting including functional knowledge of materials, fittings, and threading.
Computer skills to review and record maintenance history in work orders.
