This general contractor is a small $20M contractor and due to a retirement of a senior executive, are in search of their next leader to take the company forwards. About the company and projects:
30+ years in operation, this general contractor provide design-build and construction management services to their clients in the DC and surrounding MD and VA market.
The company has completed an extensive variety of projects including healthcare, institutional, commercial office and government work.
Core of their business has been on renovations projects but have completed new construction projects and do pursue from time to time.
Ownership is looking for a Vice President of Construction to join the organization due to the retirement of a key senior executive.
This VP will be operationally focused, managing the team of preconstruction, project managers and superintendents on all active and forecast projects.
You will also be incorporated into all executive strategy discussions surrounding business development and client pursuits, company vision, P&L analysis and forecast, hiring and personnel management.
What you will need to succeed:
10+ years of Washington DC, commercial construction projects, working directly for a general contractor. Candidates from a consulting, architect or development background will not be considered.
Diverse commercial construction project experience required, highly preferred if you have healthcare, local government, or institutional experience.
Construction experience in DC is required, out of state candidates will not be considered at this present time.
Ability to get 'hands on' in a VP position, this is a small but growing team and the need to multi-task is required.
Proven leader that has managed a team of up to 10 currently or previously.
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary in the range of $165k - $200k, depending on experience and skill level.
Annual performance review bonuses.
