TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II in Germantown, TN.
The Engineer II in the group of the Modernization value stream is responsible for the completing the design of electrical components of elevator systems from conceptualization of the established design to workable designs utilizing computer assisted engineering and design software. This position interfaces with other Contract Engineering groups, Field Engineering, R&D, Product Support Engineering, Procurement, Coder/Router Administrators and production departments to achieve the production of a world class elevator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design electrical components of existing elevator systems including, but not limited to safety and lifting systems.
Read sales documents and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used.
Interpret engineering drawings and other technical documents.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software/equipment to perform assignments.
Generate and update designs per abstracts, layouts and approved established design drawings.
Assess, plan and produce documentation for hydraulic and/or traction elevators.
Develop creative solutions to product application issues of moderate complexity.
Modify and develop standard parts and assemblies to interface with existing equipment and equipment from other OEMs.
Achieve proficiency in multiple product lines.
Ability to comprehend and apply basic A17.1 Code.
Work under moderate supervision for coaching, training, and skill development.
Train level one engineers as needed within own area of proficiency.
Effectively communicate and share information, solutions, and ideas.
Participate and lead in SSQDC and ODM meetings.
Functions as a team leader and/or possesses the ability to do so.
Identify problems and implement solutions using problem solving tools (PPS, A3, DMAIC, 8D) with coaching.
Meets metrics for safety, sustainability, quality, delivery and cost as a general function of the role.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, General Engineering Technology or similar engineering field required.
Internal Candidate Requirement: Associate's Degree with 8 to 10 years elevator work experience.
Five or more years experience (Master's degree may supplement) within the field of engineering required.
Strong understanding of engineering concepts required.
Possess the ability to closely follow instructions and preestablished procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job required.
Intermediate experience using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam preferred.
Possess the ability to understand available product line options and provide them in design.
Possess strong customer service skills.
Possess the ability to work well within a team environment while demonstrating the ability to make decisions.
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required
Experience with Lean problem solving methods (Six Sigma, A3, 8D, DMAIC, etc.) preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus.
ASQ Green Belt a plus
