Mission

Position Summary

Responsible for day to day management of the WE2 8(a) JV warehouse staff located at the three NETL sites in Oregon, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Also responsible for ensuring staff works safely and effectively to perform their tasks in accordance with the approved SOW. Ensures that staff members are appropriately assigned tasks and are trained to perform them. Performs Management Field Observations (MFOs) to identify any safety, quality, or cost effectiveness issues and yearly performance reviews of employees. This task includes purchasing, under a firm fixed price task order, so managing to the established budget is critical. Soliciting and responding to customer feedback and maintaining an excellent relationship is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain healthy and safe work environment by establishing, following and enforcing the highest standards in safety
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and external clients
  • Responsible for the overall operations, direction, coordination, and evaluation of three (3) warehouses located in three (3) different states. This includes distribution, shipping, receiving, put-a-way, picking/packing, inventory control, scheduling, assigning, training, planning, monitoring, time control, analyzing productivity, space management, and leading employees
  • Submit multiple reports, as required per the contract
  • Responsible for implementation of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage stock levels, delivery times, and costs
  • Manage the inventory schedule and process
  • Maintain physical condition of the warehouses by planning and implementing new design, layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repairs, and requisitions for replacement
  • Develop relationships with client and interface with suppliers/clients
  • Provide reporting metrics to manage business

Other Responsibilities:

Safety – Enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED/TASC/HiSET and at least five (5) years of experience in warehouse operations, property management, inventory control, or related work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.
  • Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience interacting with clients and suppliers
  • Familiarity with different warehouse management systems
  • Experience managing union employees preferred
  • Experience managing a unionized workforce is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.

Travel Requirements:

Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time. The travel may be local or national and may be by car, rail, or air.
