Job Description:

The Technical Instructor - Thermal will deliver training programs (e-learning, virtual, and conventional face-to-face) to field service associates, customers, and service partners on Vertiv thermal management products and systems. Prepare, conduct, and evaluate technical training programs; write literature and materials used in delivery; and design exercises to enhance lectures. Conduct classes regarding safety, security, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of products and systems. Candidate should have a background in manufacturing, servicing, or repairing thermal management equipment commonly found in the data center marketplace and possess the desire and talents to educate and train others.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instruct field service, safety, new hire, and technical classes on Vertiv thermal management products and systems.
  • Prepare and maintain classrooms, equipment, and lab areas.
  • Conduct presentations and webinars.
  • Model and enforce Vertiv safety guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain above goal student satisfaction ratings.
  • Schedule and facilitate training assessments.
  • Maintain and enforce classroom conduct in accordance with published policies.
  • Mentor other instructors in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.
  • Maintain classrooms and training equipment in good working condition.
  • Maintain safety and test equipment proper working order and update tracking lists.
  • Maintain tools, spare parts, and lab equipment in proper working order.
  • Assist in technical training course material development.
  • Participate in New Product Development (NPD) Activities.
  • Assess training needs and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support, Field Operations, and Engineering to develop training documentation, manuals, and content.
  • Participate in on-site support in conjunction with Field Operations, Technical Support, or Engineering.
  • Maintain training course materials.
  • Review training materials for compliance with training requirements and ensure training material relevance according to schedule.
  • Incorporate ECN, FCN, and Safety Bulletins into training in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with product subject matter experts from Field Operations, Technical Support, and/or Engineering to ensure training materials remain current with product updates and performance to ensure the latest information is being taught.
  • Practice continuous improvement in all aspects of the job.
  • Review and incorporate student feedback.
  • Attend professional development training and conferences.
  • Witness field services activities to ensure curriculum content is accurate and complete.
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Turn in expense reports, trip reports, and timecards accurately and on time.
  • Complete student grade cards accurately and on time.
  • Order training supplies and materials to enhance instruction programs.



QUALIFICATIONS




Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Proficiency and knowledge of thermal management principles and field service required.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic controls required.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Detailed oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Preferred 5+ years of experience as a technical training instructor.
  • Preferred formal trainer/facilitator Certification.



EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two years technical degree, HVAC preferred, or equivalent training and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Medium Lifting (30 Ibs. - 45 Ibs.)
  • Frequent Standing
  • Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping
  • Frequent bending / twisting
  • Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders)



ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Noise Level (Medium / High need to shout to be heard)
  • Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)
  • Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.)

  • 25%

The anticipated salary range for this role in the State of Colorado locality is between $80,000 to $100,000 per year - salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
